Curriculum
Master’s Program
Each student will have to take 13 courses, every two months, of which six are compulsory for 30 hours (Economy and Territory in Brazil; State and Public Policies; Regional Planning; City Management; Research Seminar; Research Techniques); one is compulsory for 60 hours ( Thesis Research), and six are 30-hour electives, totaling 420 hours.
- Every 15 hours/class corresponds to 1 credit.
Doctoral Program
Each student will have to take 19 courses, every two months, being five of them compulsory for 30 hours (Economy and Territory in Brazil; State and Public Policies; Regional Planning; City Management; Scientific Methodology), one compulsory for 60 hours ( Dissertation Research), and 13 electives for 30 hours, totaling 600 hours. There is the possibility of the doctoral student taking up to six courses from the master’s program.
- Every 15 hours/class corresponds to 1 credit.
The dissertation is defended by an Examining Board composed of at least four PhD members, one of them being the dissertation advisor and two external members of the respective Program. In case there is an advisor and a co-advisor may participate in the Examining Board, which, in this case, will have at least five members.
